Hobgoblin is a supervillain appearing in Marvel Comics, primarily as an adversary of Spider-Man.
The original Hobgoblin, Roderick Kingsley, first appeared in Amazing Spider-Man #238 (March 1983). A corrupt fashion designer, Kingsley used Norman Osborn's old equipment to create his Hobgoblin persona.
Over the years, several characters have adopted the Hobgoblin identity, including Ned Leeds (brainwashed), Jason Macendale, and Phil Urich. Each version possessed variations of the Goblin formula and weaponry.
While Roderick Kingsley is considered the original, the most well-known Hobgoblin may be Ned Leeds due to his prolonged role in the comics.
